Game Play

The top card of each tableau pile is available for play onto another tableau pile. Only one card at a time may be moved between piles. You may move any available card onto another tableau pile as long as the rank of the card being moved is at least one rank lower than the top card of the pile it is being played on. For example, the 2 could be moved onto the 6 or the 10 because the 2 is at least one rank lower than both of these cards. Another example would be that the 6 could be moved onto the 10 because the 6 is at least one rank lower than the 10. When a tableau pile becomes empty, it may be filled with the top card from another tableau pile.

To Win

Tower of Hanoi solitaire is won if you get a single tableau pile to have all nine cards going from the 10 in descending order to the 2 as follows: 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2. You can keep track of how many moves it takes to win and try to get a lower score each time. If you cannot get a single tableau pile in descending order from the 10 to the 2, the game is lost.
