Objective

The objective of number ten solitaire is to build the foundation piles up in suit from ace to king.

Setup

Deal out ten piles of four cards to form the foundation piles. The bottom two cards of each pile are dealt face down, the top two cards of each pile are dealt face up. Place the remaining cards face down to form the stock.

Game Play

When an ace becomes available, place it above the tableau to form a foundation pile. There will be eight foundation piles, two per suit. Foundation piles are built from ace to king, following suit. A card may be added to a foundation pile as long as it is one rank higher and of the same suit as the top card of the foundation pile it is being added to.

The top card of each tableau pile and the waste pile are available for play. Building on the tableau is permitted. To add a card to a tableau pile, it must be one rank lower, and of the opposite color than the top card of the tableau pile. You may move a card or group of cards in the proper sequence from tableau pile to tableau pile A king may be plated onto an ace to continue the sequence when building on the tableau piles.

When a tableau pile becomes empty, it may be filled by any available card or group of cards in the proper sequence.

The stock is dealt to the waste pile one card at a time, at your discretion. Only the top card of the waste pile is available for play, either onto a foundation pile, or onto a tableau pile. There is only one pass through the stock allowed, the stock is not redealt.

To Win

To win number ten solitaire, all foundation piles must be built from ace to king, following suit. If the player runs out of moves before all foundation piles are complete, number ten solitaire is lost.
