Blondes and Brunettes Solitaire Rules

| Players: 1 | Type: Solitaire | Supplies: 2 Decks |

Objective

The objective of blondes and brunettes solitaire is to build the foundation piles up in sequence, alternating colors, until all piles have 13 cards.

Setup

Deal out a reserve pile of 10 face up cards, splayed down. Deal out a row of nine tableau piles with one face up card each. Deal out one card above the tableau to form a foundation pile. Place the remaining deck face down to form the stock.

Game Play

The first card dealt to the foundation piles determines the starting card for the other seven foundation piles. When the other seven cards of the same rank become available, they are moved above the tableau to form a foundation pile. Foundation piles are built up in sequence, alternating color, until each pile has 13 cards. Aces can be played on kings to continue the sequence.

Only the top card of each tableau pile and the top card of the waste pile are available for play onto another tableau or onto a foundation pile. Only one card may be moved at a time. Tableau piles are built down in sequence, alternating color. Kings may be played on aces to continue the sequence. Only the top card of the reserve pile is available for play onto a foundation pile.

The stock is dealt one card at a time to the waste pile at the player's discretion. When a space in the tableau becomes empty, it is immediately filled from the top card of the waste. If the waste is empty, it is filled from the top card of the stock. There is no redeal.

To Win

To win blondes and brunettes solitaire, all eight foundation piles must be built up in sequence from the starting card in alternating colors until each pile has 13 cards.
