Barrier Solitaire Rules

| Players: 1 | Type: Solitaire | Supplies: 1 Deck |

Objective

The objective of barrier solitaire is to build the foundation piles from ace to king in suit.

Setup

Deal out six tableau piles, where the bottom card, 3rd to bottom, and 5th to bottom card are face down, and the second card, fourth card, and top, sixth, card are face up. Place the remaining 16 cards face up in a 4X4 grid to form the reserve.

Game Play

When an ace becomes available, move it above the tableau to start a foundation pile. Foundation piles are built from ace to king in suit. There will be four foundation piles, one per suit.

The top card of each tableau pile, and each card in the reserve grid are available for play onto a tableau pile or a foundation pile. Tableau piles may be built down in sequence, regardless of suit. You may move one card or a group of cards in the proper sequence from tableau pile to tableau pile. When a tableau pile becomes empty, it may be filled with any available card or group of cards. When a face down card is at the top of a tableau pile, flip it face up.

Barrier solitaire continues until there are no more available moves.

To Win

To win barrier solitaire, all four foundation piles must be built up in sequence from ace to king in suit.
