How to Play Avenue Solitaire

Avenue solitaire is a typical solitaire game using two decks of playing cards.

Avenue Solitaire Rules

| Players: 1 | Type: Solitaire | Supplies: 2 Decks |

Objective

The objective of avenue solitaire is to build each ace foundation pile in sequence up to king.

Setup

Lay out two columns of four tableau piles in each column, each column has four face up tableau piles splayed away from the center. Leave room in between the eight tableau piles for eight foundation piles that will be in two columns. Place the remaining deck face down to form the stock.

Game Play

When an ace becomes available, move it in between the tableau columns to form a foundation pile. There will be eight foundation piles, two per suit. Foundation piles are built up in sequence from ace to king in suit.

The top card of the waste pile and each tableau pile are available for play onto other tableau piles or a foundation pile. Foundation piles are built down in sequence regardless of suit. One card or group of cards in the proper sequence may be moved from tableau pile to tableau pile. Empty tableau piles may be filled by a king or group of cards headed by a king.

When there are no more moves available, flip the top card of the stock over to form or add to the waste pile. There is no redeal.

To Win

To win avenue solitaire, all cards must be in the foundation piles. If the player exhausts the stock and runs out of moves, avenue solitaire is lost.
