Objective

The objective of Alternations solitaire is to build the foundation piles in sequence from ace to king in suit.

Setup

Game Play

As aces become available, they are moved above the tableau to form a foundation pile. There will be two foundation piles per suit. Foundation piles are built in sequence from ace to king, of the same suit. Only the top card of the waste pile and top card of each tableau pile are available for play onto a foundation pile.

The top card of the waste pile and the top card of each tableau pile may be used to build onto other tableau piles. Tableau piles are built down in sequence, regardless of suit. A single card, or group of cards in the proper sequence may be moved from one tableau pile to another. When a tableau pile becomes empty, it may be filled with any available card or proper sequence of cards. When the top card of a tableau pile is an upside down card, it is flipped right side up.

When there are no more moves available, flip the top card of the stock over to form or add to the waste pile. There is no redeal.

To Win

To win alternations solitaire, all cards must be built onto the foundation piles. If the stock is exhausted, there are no more moves, and not all cards are in the foundation piles yet, alternations solitaire is lost.
